let the adventure – Begin
The town of Pedasi is located on the south east tip of the Azuero Peninsula and follows the beautiful Pacific coastline. It consists of a population of about 4000 depending on the season. Some of the most beautiful beaches in Panama are no more than 3 km away. We have two seasons; Green (or rainy), and Dry season (summer). The green season will rain beginning as early as May and ending as late as mid-December. This time brings cooler temps and daily showers that can be short or last all day long. This is a beautiful time to visit because the rolling hills are lush and green. Green season is also the best time for whale watching, sea turtle nesting and fishing. Dry season (summer) makes the rain come to a halt for close to 5 months. Because Pedasi is in what is also called the “Dry Arc”, you will not see any rain during this season. The strong coastal winds will kick in which makes this a perfect time forsailing, wind surfing, and kite surfing. The temperatures range year-round from 27C to 35C. Dry season can be the busiest travel time because this is considered summer for residents and the kids are out of school. Also, this is when many visitors from colder countries are escaping the extreme snow.
Pedasi is a colonial village with colorful, painted concrete block homes and a beautiful Catholic church in the town plaza center. Most locals walk or bike to get around. It’s not uncommon to see the occasional farmer on horseback riding on main street. There are plenty of options for eating out, but a fast food chain is not one of them. One of the draws to Pedasi, is that it reminds many people of the simple life in the 1950’s. Everybody will greet you as you pass them by and take pleasure in giving assistance when needed. Most of the residents have grown up here and continue to remain with their families.
You are invited to come experience the charm of this quaint town and fall in love with the people and landscape! Ven a Pedasi!
